Noisy Balloons! By The Mathematics of Waves and Materials (University of Manchester)

Noisy Balloons!

Here is a simple experiment with sound that you can try at home. Make a hex nut sing and find out how sounds are made with this noisy experiment!

You will need two balloons, a balloon pump, a smooth round object such as a marble or bead and an object with corners such as a hexagonal nut.

The activity is suitable from KS1 upwards and requires adult supervision.
